Fusing art, fiction, social media, merchandise, and tabletop gaming, Salt Mystic aims at nothing less than forging a new way to interact with a fully-realized imagined world!

But what’s it about?

The Salt Mystic saw how to bend the forces of history—how to steer humanity over the centuries with stories—and from her vision rose the Infinite Republic. It was a chain of shining civilizations sprawling the world and tucked inside pocket dimensions called oriels.
Then came the War of the Rupture. A thousand worlds fell. Now the air hums with ruin and electricity.
Across the wreckage ride the scavengers and seers, the gunslingers who duel with ball lightning and trade in forgotten machines and scraps of powerful fables. Somewhere out there, the old Republic still flickers—and some still whisper that the Mystic’s stories live on, choosing new hosts to rebuild it.

Fantastic! How can I get started?
SALT MYSTIC: BOOK OF LOTS is the easiest and most immersive means of entering the Salt Mystic universe. Built on a novella-length bibliomancy oracle and streamlined RPG rules so simple they fit on a couple of pages, it just looks like a book – actually, it’s an adventure!

The Salt Mystic core game is a terrain-based, deckbuilding tabletop wargame that is easy to learn, with the rules heavily illustrated on only ten pages.

What about books?
TEARING DOWN THE STATUES is an introductory novel that establishes the setting and sets the stakes. It’s the electrifying story of this generation’s true Guardian. Maybe. Anyway, it’s funny and scary and has great dialogue with characters that pop. And cool machines. What else do you want?


And soon, we’ll have a standalone novel introducing a new War Marshal and some terrifying new threats into the Salt Mystic universe…

We’re hard at work on this one. The working title is Mazewater When He Veiled The Sky, and it will be primarily set in a tumbledown jumbled mess of a city called The Jagganatheum. We finished the detailed map a while back, and it turned out fantastic!
The idea is these novels (and the Lore Cards) introduce important characters and developments in the overall story that bring new cards and mechanics as we go. You should join us in this!
